SuppMatch.AI, a startup from the Polish capital, has closed a pre-seed round worth $1.3 million. The money comes from the Aegis Capital fund and business angel Mati Staniszewski.

The company is building an assistant powered by artificial intelligence that helps users choose dietary supplements. Its main selling point is the foundation of the recommendations: instead of relying on marketing claims or opinions, the tool selects products on the basis of clinical studies.

A crowded and confusing market

The supplement aisle, online and in pharmacies, offers a huge number of products with similar promises. For many buyers it is hard to tell which ingredients have scientific support and which are simply well advertised. SuppMatch.AI wants to place an AI layer between the shopper and that offer, turning a large body of research into a personalised suggestion.

The approach reflects a wider trend in which AI assistants are applied to narrow, practical decisions rather than general conversation. In health-related areas, the credibility of the sources behind an answer matters as much as the answer itself, which is why the startup stresses its link to clinical evidence.

What the round means

A pre-seed round is an early stage of financing, typically used to build the product and test it with the first users. The backing of an investment fund and an experienced angel gives the young company resources to move from concept toward a working service.

For consumers, the real test will be whether the assistant can explain its recommendations clearly and stay faithful to the underlying studies. The startup's next steps will show how it intends to turn the new capital into a product people use when deciding what to put in their shopping basket.
