Huawei Rolls Out October 2026 Security Update to Pura 80, Pura 70
Huawei has begun sending its October 2026 EMUI update to the Pura 80 and Pura 70, with fixes for dozens of vulnerabilities, including critical third-party library flaws.

Huawei has started distributing its October 2026 EMUI update to the Pura 80 and Pura 70 series. The release brings a new security patch, privacy fixes and improved system stability.
According to the company, the update addresses two high-severity and 14 medium-severity vulnerabilities. It also fixes issues in third-party libraries: 9 critical, 36 high, 5 medium and two low-severity flaws. That makes it an important update for protecting user data.
Versions and size
On the Pura 80 Pro, the update carries version EMUI 15.0.0.187 and weighs 363 MB. The Pura 70 receives EMUI 14.2.0.248, at 326 MB. On both devices, the changelog is limited to the October security patch.
HarmonyOS expansion
Huawei is also continuing to expand HarmonyOS internationally. The operating system is already available on wearables and tablets outside China. The company plans to bring it to smartphones globally in the coming years, focusing on five areas: smart cars, office automation, smart homes, fitness and health, and entertainment.
How to install
Huawei advises users to make sure they have enough free storage before installing and to back up their data, even though the update does not erase device contents. A stable network connection is also recommended to avoid an interrupted installation.
To get the update, open Settings > System & updates > Software updates, then tap "Check for updates".
