Huawei Mate X8 Leak Points to 50MP 1-Inch Main Camera
A new leak says the Huawei Mate X8 foldable, expected next month, will pair a 50MP 1-inch main sensor with a 50MP RYYB periscope telephoto lens.

Huawei's next foldable, the Mate X8, is shaping up as a camera-focused device. According to a new leak from SmartPikachu, the phone is expected to launch next month with a 50-megapixel main camera and an upgraded zoom setup.
The leak also lists an 8-inch inner display and the new Kirin 9050 Pro processor with LogicFolding. The camera system is said to concentrate on long-range shooting and image quality in low light.
Camera details
The main sensor is reportedly a 50MP 1-inch unit, designed to capture more light and deliver stronger contrast. Alongside it sits a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with an RYYB filter, which the leak says admits up to 40% more light than conventional RGB sensors. That should mean brighter, more detailed shots in dim conditions.
The phone is also expected to support close-up shooting and slow-motion macro. The zoom lens technology should improve magnification quality in night scenes and close-range video.
A third-generation multispectral camera, in the style of the Mate 90 series, is also mentioned. The leak claims a 37% improvement in color accuracy and a 62% improvement in skin-tone realism through TruSkin technology.
Compared with the Mate X7
Details of the wide-angle camera have not surfaced yet. The Mate X7 had a 50MP main camera with a 10-stop variable aperture and OIS, a 40MP wide-angle lens, a 50MP telephoto macro lens with 3.5x optical zoom and a second-generation multispectral camera.
If the leaked specifications hold, the Mate X8 would be a notable photography upgrade over its predecessor. Huawei has not confirmed any of these figures, and an official announcement is expected in November.
