Honor Magic 9 Demand Driven by Camera and Battery, CEO Says

Honor CEO Li Jian says strong demand for the Magic 9 series comes down to two upgrades: a 200MP dual-sensor camera system and record-size batteries.

Honor says its Magic 9 series is selling strongly, and CEO Li Jian credits two upgrades: the camera and the battery. He made the comments during the company's Double 11 livestream.

According to Li, the lineup has drawn unprecedented user interest since its official launch. He said the phones topped user ratings thanks to their AI features and advanced imaging, and that the big battery and the smart camera unit played a central role in that success.

Camera: two 200MP sensors

The Magic 9 phones use two 200-megapixel sensors, paired with a dedicated image processor that the company says noticeably improves photo quality. They also support cinematic features inspired by ARRI Cinema.

The phones work with external G200 and G500 telephoto converters as well. Honor says these deliver macro shooting that goes beyond what Sony's 400mm converters can do.

Batteries: the largest among flagships

Honor says the family offers the biggest battery capacities among flagship phones:

  • The standard model has an 8,000mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.
  • The Pro Max has an 8,800mAh battery with 100W charging.
  • The Magic 9 Super Edition has an 11,000mAh battery.

Li closed by saying Honor will keep developing its products based on user feedback and needs. For buyers weighing Android flagships in 2026, the numbers show Honor is competing on endurance and imaging rather than on one headline feature.
