Huawei Tipped to Launch Compact MateBook Fold in November

Huawei is preparing a batch of new products for November, and leaks point to a compact MateBook Fold making its debut as part of the lineup. The company is also expected to show a second-generation MatePad Mini tablet and the Mate X8 foldable phone.

The laptop's timing looks closer after it reportedly received China's 3C certification, a step that usually signals an imminent official launch. Earlier rumors placed a smaller MateBook Fold in the fourth quarter of this year, and some expected it to appear alongside the Mate 90 series. Huawei has not confirmed any details so far, and it typically keeps specifications under wraps until the reveal.

What the leaks say

According to the leaks, the device will have a 14-inch screen when fully opened, shrinking to 10 inches when folded into a tablet-like form. It is expected to support three modes: tablet, traditional laptop, and an "Ultra" mode for an extended display. It may also become the first PC with an additional cover screen.

Why it matters

Huawei introduced its first foldable-screen laptop in 2025, running HarmonyOS PC. The following year it refined that model with significant productivity additions and performance improvements. A smaller version would aim at buyers who want a new kind of device at a more accessible price, which could widen the appeal of a category that has so far been niche.

For now, all of this rests on leaks. Pricing, processor and release date remain unannounced, and an official unveiling next month would settle what the compact foldable actually offers.
