Yomy Smart Feeder Serves Wet and Dry Food to Cats on Demand

French brand Yomy has built a feeder that serves small portions of wet food or kibble whenever a cat approaches, with no fridge needed. A month-long test was convincing.

Yomy, a French pet-tech brand shown at CES 2026, makes an automatic feeder that gives cats small portions of wet food or kibble on demand, within a daily calorie quota. After a month of daily use, one owner describes the result as thoroughly convincing.

How it works

A sensor detects the cat's approach and wakes the machine. A camera then confirms the visit, day or night, and a feline face-recognition algorithm identifies the animal. Yomy can be linked to up to three cats. A drawer with two compartments opens for the cat and closes once it has finished, reopening only at the next visit until the daily allowance is used up. A pause can be set to curb abuse.

Wet food is the hard part, because it oxidizes quickly. Yomy uses a patented airtight pouch that needs no refrigeration, empties completely and serves food at room temperature. A weighing sensor tracks what the cat actually eats, gram by gram. The camera also saves a photo at each visit; according to the article, Yomy can only access it with the owner's consent, and pictures are deleted from its servers after 7 to 10 days.

Setup and daily use

The app asks for the cat's breed, age, weight and activity level to set a daily calorie target. Owners can then adjust the quantity and the split between wet food and kibble, up to 100% of either. Yomy is deliberately not programmable: it follows the cat's natural habit of grazing, closer to 15 small meals than three large ones.

The tester had earlier tried Petlibro's Polar, a refrigerated wet-food dispenser limited to three meals over at most three days. It grew mold three days after a refill, so he stopped using it.

With Yomy, his cat understood the system within 24 hours and showed no wariness by day three. Its daily calorie tracking is on target, and a connected litter box monitors its weight. The tester notes a few minor bugs, notably weighing errors that can skew a serving, and that the machine is noisy when it dispenses wet food. It measures 49 cm high, 33 cm long and 22 cm wide, weighs 8.8 kg, and comes in beige.

The tester adds that the cat has been more affectionate than ever, provided owners keep up regular interaction such as play.
