Beget Restores Hosting After Cyberattack, Backups Due in 5 Days
Russian hosting provider Beget says 60% of its virtual hosting servers and 40% of dedicated servers are back after a cyberattack. Backup access is promised within five days.

Russian hosting provider Beget is still recovering its infrastructure after a cyberattack in early November that disrupted part of its services and a number of Runet websites. According to the company, 60% of its virtual hosting servers and 40% of the dedicated servers it manages are currently running.
Customers are not being charged for services that remain unavailable, the company said.
Most backups survived
Beget reports that most backup copies of files from its virtual servers were preserved. The company plans to bring the data storage systems back online within a day.
In parallel, engineers are rebuilding the control panel that will let users reach their backups and manage their domains. The company aims to finish that work within five days.
Full recovery timeline still unclear
All dedicated servers that customers administer themselves are already working again. Servers managed by Beget itself were hit harder, so restoring them will take longer, and the company has not given a date for full recovery.
The mail web interface is already available, Beget added.
For site owners hosted with the provider, the practical picture is mixed. Data appears largely intact, but access to backups and domain management depends on the control panel, which is still being rebuilt. Customers with self-managed dedicated servers are in the best position, while those relying on Beget-managed machines face the longest wait.
