Tantor Labs has released version 7.1 of Tantor Platform, its tool for centralized administration and monitoring of PostgreSQL-compatible databases. The headline feature is AI self-healing, which automatically fixes typical problems detected by the platform's AI monitoring.

Version 7.0, launched in August 2026, introduced industrial AI monitoring of databases. The new release moves from detecting problems and preparing recommendations to automating their resolution.

How self-healing works

The mechanism analyzes data gathered by diagnostic scenarios, identifies problems and proposes fixes. Administrators decide which problem types may be fixed automatically and where: at the level of an instance, a space or a tenant. Before acting, the platform assesses risk, and if it is too high, it suggests doing the operation manually. After a fix, the system compares the database state before and after, and rolls the change back if metrics worsen. A full history shows how the agent found the issue, what it proposed, which commands it ran and with what result.

The company suggests enabling automatic fixes for all supported issue types on dev, test and stage environments, such as dead-row buildup, stale statistics, slow queries, connection shortages and poor settings. In production, it recommends starting with a narrow rule, for example allowing a plain VACUUM for dead rows on selected instances, while slow queries, locks and configuration changes stay in recommendation mode for DBAs.

Other changes

Users can now build their own primary and secondary AI diagnostic scenarios, including ones based on system templates. Database health scoring has configurable thresholds and penalty points depending on workload type, and health is now evaluated for each database separately, not only for the instance. The instance overview gains an alerts heat map covering six months and data on the age and sources of the vacuum horizon.

A new "Platform Maintenance" section shows scheduled jobs and their status. The "Current Activity" page has an "All databases" tab with SQL text for each process. Audit reports can be saved, and AI assistant recommendations can be filtered by status, severity and state. The release also adds notifications to the Russian messenger Max and support for the Tantor Persey DBMS.

AI monitoring and self-healing are currently free for all existing Platform customers. Tantor Platform ships with any commercial edition of Tantor Postgres, and a 90-day trial can be requested through the company's website.
