Sigma FP2 Orders Outstrip Supply on First Day of Pre-Orders
Sigma says demand for the FP2 full-frame mirrorless camera exceeded expectations on day one of pre-orders, and production cannot keep pace ahead of the November 11 launch.

Sigma has apologized for a supply shortage of its new Sigma FP2 mirrorless camera, announcing on the very first day of pre-orders that demand has outpaced production. The camera is scheduled to go on sale on November 11, 2026.
The body alone costs 346,500 yen in Sigma's official online store. The FP2 succeeds the Sigma fp from 2019, and arrives after roughly seven years. In 2021 Sigma added the higher-resolution fp L to the line, but the FP2 is the first true numbered successor, which helps explain the rush.
What the FP2 offers
Sigma calls the FP2 the world's smallest and lightest full-frame camera, at about 376 g for the body alone. It uses a partially stacked sensor of about 24.5 million pixels, and autofocus now includes phase detection, with bird recognition supported. The rear screen tilts, and photographers who want a viewfinder can add the separate EVF-21, which connects over USB-C.
A dedicated Color button gives access to 13 color modes. They include FOV Classic Blue and Yellow, which recreate the look of Sigma's earlier Foveon-sensor cameras, and a video-style 709 look.
The fp tradition of switching between stills and cinema camera operation is retained. Video supports 6K open gate and internal ProRes RAW recording. The camera also adds roughly 70 GB of built-in memory, which the original lacked and which can serve as a backup in an emergency.
Small design changes
The design is largely unchanged, but the front logo now reads FP in capitals instead of lowercase. The strap-holder screw hole on the body side and the tripod mount have both been unified to 1/4 inch.
Buyers hoping to have the camera on launch day may be disappointed, since stock is expected to be tight. Those who want one are advised to pre-order early.
