Netflix to Invest 10 Billion Lira in Turkish Series and Films
Netflix will put 10 billion Turkish lira into local series and films between 2026 and 2028, marking its 10th year in Türkiye with new productions in several cities.

Netflix has announced a total investment of 10 billion Turkish lira in Turkish series and films for the 2026–2028 period. The company made the announcement as it marks its tenth year in Türkiye.
According to the company, new series and films will be shot in different cities across the country, creating new job opportunities for creative-sector workers and bringing more Turkish stories to viewers in 190 countries.
Ten years in numbers
Diego Ávalos, Netflix's VP of Content for Spain, Portugal, Türkiye and the Middle East, said the company has filmed in more than 30 cities, from Edirne to Kars, and released over 90 local productions in the past decade. Those titles have reached Netflix Top 10 lists in more than 90 countries. He said the new investment will bring "untold stories from different corners of Anatolia" to the screen.
Government backing
A. Burak Dağlıoğlu, head of the Investment Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, called the commitment a sign of confidence in the country's production potential, skilled workforce and global competitiveness. He noted that Türkiye leads the world in annual TV episode output and that Turkish series, exported to 190 countries, generate more than 1 billion dollars in export revenue. He also pointed to the "Türkiye: A Strong Hub for Investments" program, under which the tax rate on income from service exports was cut to zero, and said the timing of Netflix's decision showed the policy was well judged.
Talent programs
Netflix also announced "Sıradaki Hikaye: Netflix Proje Sunum Günü" (Next Story: Netflix Pitch Day), to be held on 30 November. Participants who have not previously worked as writers, directors or producers on a Netflix Türkiye production will pitch their projects to the company's content teams.
The company says it has run more than 40 free training programs, covering screenwriting, visual effects, directing and adaptation workshops. Its two-year-old Türkiye Talent Map program has reached young people in cities from Çanakkale to Mardin and Konya to Hatay, and will extend to three more Anatolian cities in its next phase.
