Jio Platforms Q2 Profit Rises 13.7% to ₹8,387 Crore After Listing
Newly listed Jio Platforms posted a Q2 FY27 net profit of ₹8,387 crore, up 13.7% year on year, as revenue grew 11.4% and 5G subscribers reached 300 million.

Jio Platforms reported a consolidated net profit of ₹8,387 crore for the second quarter of FY27, up 13.7% from ₹7,379 crore a year earlier. It is the company's first set of results since its stock market debut. Compared with the previous quarter, profit rose 8.0% from ₹7,764 crore.
Operating revenue climbed 11.4% year on year and 3.3% sequentially to ₹40,475 crore. Other income jumped 49.5% to ₹978 crore, lifting total income 12% to ₹41,453 crore. Total expenses rose 11.6% to ₹30,194 crore, slightly faster than revenue, while network operating costs, the largest expense line, increased 3.3% to ₹8,813 crore.
Margins and subscribers
EBITDA grew 16.6% to ₹21,879 crore, a 4.9% rise on the previous quarter. Excluding capex, EBITDA stood at ₹15,449 crore. The company said higher finance costs, linked to the capitalisation of 5G assets in March 2026, offset part of that growth. Tax expenses came to ₹2,872 crore, almost all of it deferred, and total comprehensive income was ₹8,509 crore.
Jio added 9.1 million net customers, taking its base to 542.4 million. It has 300 million 5G subscribers and says it is the world's largest 5G operator outside China. Average revenue per user rose 3.5% to ₹218.8 per month, as a better subscriber mix and higher usage outweighed promotional schemes for fixed broadband. Each customer used about 44.2 GB of mobile data per month.
Managing director Akash Ambani said the results reflect the strength of the 5G network and the growing reach of broadband and digital services. Telecom subsidiary Reliance Jio Infocomm posted operating revenue of ₹35,307 crore, up 10.8%, and EBITDA of ₹20,505 crore, up 14.7%.
