Evertrue Capital closes €15 million debut pre-seed fund

Yvonne Bajela's Evertrue Capital has closed its first fund at €15 million, backed by Phoenix Court and the British Business Bank, to back pre-Seed frontier tech founders.

British venture firm Evertrue Capital has closed its debut fund at €15 million (about $17 million), giving founder Yvonne Bajela the capital to back early-stage companies in the UK and Europe.

The fund plans to write pre-Seed cheques of between £250,000 and £500,000, roughly €299,000 to €599,000. It targets founders building frontier technologies, with a primary focus on the UK and Europe.

Who is backing the fund

Phoenix Court is an investor through Basecamp, its fund of funds that invests in a global community of emerging managers. The British Business Bank is also among the backers, according to the announcement.

Why it matters

Pre-Seed is often the hardest stage for founders to fund, as institutional investors tend to prefer companies with more traction. A dedicated vehicle with cheque sizes in the low hundreds of thousands of pounds addresses that gap, particularly for teams working on deep or frontier technology that may need time to reach commercial milestones.

The close is also a notable step for an emerging manager. First-time funds can struggle to raise capital, so support from a public development bank and a fund of funds signals institutional confidence in Bajela's approach.

Evertrue Capital has not detailed in the material available which sectors or companies it will back first, so its initial portfolio remains to be seen. With the fund now closed, the firm can begin deploying capital into pre-Seed rounds across the UK and Europe.
