Denza Bao 5 arrives in Spain: 544 hp hybrid SUV, 835 km range
Denza's first SUV, the Bao 5, goes on sale in Spain with DMO plug-in hybrid tech, 544 hp and a combined range of up to 835 km, from 76,290 euros.

Denza has brought the Bao 5, the brand's first SUV, to Spain. It is a plug-in hybrid built on the DMO system, with a combined range of up to 835 km and a maximum output of 544 hp (400 kW) and 760 Nm of torque.
Powertrain and performance
The setup pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with two electric motors, one on each axle. The petrol unit produces 150 hp and 240 Nm, but its main job is to supply electricity to the 31.8 kWh Blade Battery and to the motors. The front motor delivers 272 hp and the rear 388 hp.
That is a lot of power for a five-seat SUV measuring 4.9 metres. The Bao 5 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds in the Elegance trim and 5.0 seconds in the Ultimate. It uses a body-on-frame style ladder chassis with DMO control systems, the DiSus-P intelligent hydraulic suspension, which reads data from more than 20 sensors, two electronic differentials and a central locking system, aimed at both road and off-road use.
Interior and tech
The driver gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a head-up display. The centre console carries a 15.6-inch (39.6 cm) touchscreen, and the front passenger has a panoramic screen of their own. The car has its own voice assistant with four detection zones and a Devialet hi-fi audio system, with up to 18 speakers in the Ultimate.
Pricing and warranty
The recommended price is 76,290 euros for the Elegance and 86,420 euros for the Ultimate. The Ultimate includes a 6-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, 8 years or 150,000 km for the propulsion system and 8 years or 250,000 km for the Blade Battery. Both versions are offered in a range of exterior and interior colours.
