Cozystack Wins TOC Votes to Move to CNCF Incubation
Eight of 11 CNCF Technical Oversight Committee members have voted to promote Cozystack from Sandbox to Incubating, with no votes against so far.

Cozystack has secured enough votes to move from the CNCF Sandbox to Incubating status. According to the project team, 8 of the 11 members of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation's Technical Oversight Committee (TOC) voted in favor overnight, and nobody has voted against, at least so far.
The vote is still formally open. A voting bot has to tally the results, and it does so only once a day. The vote was started on Friday evening, so the required majority was reached within roughly two days.
A year of due diligence
The path to this point was not short. In February 2025, the TOC unanimously accepted Cozystack into the CNCF Sandbox. In October of the same year, the team applied for Incubation.
What followed was a year of due diligence. Reviewers examined the project's governance, its release process and its security practices, and TOC members interviewed users of the platform. Along the way, Cozystack also completed the CNCF General Technical Review, Kubernetes Conformance and Kubernetes AI Conformance.
Why it matters
Incubating is a higher maturity tier than Sandbox within the CNCF. For organizations evaluating Cozystack, the promotion signals that the project has passed an independent review of how it is governed, released and secured, which is the kind of evidence companies often look for before adopting open source infrastructure.
The team thanked contributors, maintainers, adopters and community members for their support, criticism and inspiration, and singled out colleagues at Ænix, the company behind much of the work needed to make the vote possible.
Once the bot publishes its final count, the vote will close formally and the promotion will be confirmed.
