Bambu Lab has officially presented the H3C, its new top-of-the-line 3D printer. The two headline features are the number of tool heads, nine in total, and support for two filament diameters: the common 1.75 mm and the thicker 2.85 mm.

Nine tool heads

A setup with nine tool heads points to a printer built for complex jobs in which different materials or nozzle configurations are used within a single print. Instead of swapping filament or hardware by hand between steps, a multi-tool design keeps several heads available at once. The company positions the H3C as its flagship, above its existing models.

Two filament standards

Most consumer 3D printers work with 1.75 mm filament, which is why that format dominates the spool market. Supporting 2.85 mm material as well widens the range of filaments users can load. For buyers, that means more freedom in choosing materials and suppliers without needing a second machine.

What this means for buyers

The H3C targets users who want to push beyond standard single-material printing, such as advanced hobbyists, workshops and small production setups. How the printer performs in practice, and how its multi-tool system compares with rival approaches, will only become clear in hands-on tests.

The announcement is the official unveiling of the model. Further details on its capabilities will determine how it fits into Bambu Lab's lineup and how it competes in the high-end segment of the 3D printing market.
