Startups in Spain's Valencian Community have raised more than €234 million in investment between January and September 2026, an increase of 88% on the same period last year.

The jump comes alongside growth in the number of young companies in the region. The count of emerging firms rose 15.45% to reach 1,852 startups, according to the figures released for the first nine months of the year.

A fast-growing ecosystem

The combination of more companies and considerably more capital suggests that the region's ecosystem is not only widening but also attracting larger funding commitments. An 88% year-on-year rise in nine months is a sharp acceleration for a regional market, and it puts Valencia among the territories to watch in Spain's startup landscape.

For founders, the data points to a deeper pool of investors willing to back early and growth-stage companies outside the country's two largest hubs. For investors, a base of nearly 1,900 startups offers a wider pipeline of potential deals.

What to watch

The figures cover only the first three quarters of 2026, so the full-year total will depend on how many rounds close between October and December. Whether the pace of company creation keeps up with the rise in capital will be a key indicator of how sustainable the growth proves to be.
