Roleo raises €2.9M for AI career agent led by Veriff co-founder
Roleo, founded by Veriff co-founder Janer Gorohhov, has raised €2.9 million led by Practica Capital to expand its free AI career agent for tech professionals across Europe.

Roleo, a startup building a personal AI career agent for technology professionals, has raised €2.9 million in a round led by Baltic venture firm Practica Capital, with participation from Nordic VC Inventure.
The company was founded by Janer Gorohhov, a co-founder of identity verification company Veriff, and Vahur Hansen, a former member of Wise's early engineering team and co-founder of Membo. Gorohhov serves as CEO.
How the agent works
Roleo offers a free agent that monitors the job market on a user's behalf, so professionals do not have to watch job boards or keep up networks to stay visible. It learns about each person's experience, career goals, salary expectations and preferences, such as flexibility, responsibilities and future development. It then evaluates openings across the European technology sector.
When it finds a suitable match, Roleo can connect the candidate directly with a hiring manager, with no formal application needed. Users keep control over their visibility, their personal information and whether to pursue an opportunity.
"Most people spend years building their careers, but only actively manage them when something goes wrong or they decide it is time for a change," Gorohhov said, arguing that everyone should have an active career agent that keeps an eye on the market.
Traction and plans
Since the start of 2026, the agent has connected users with 30,000 career opportunities that they went on to explore. Each week it evaluates hundreds of thousands of potential openings and typically picks the three most relevant for each user. Users include professionals from Google, Amazon, Stripe and Spotify. Employers get access to qualified candidates who are not actively job hunting but are open to the right role.
Other backers include Bolt founder Markus Villig, Sergei Anikin, Henrik Bohman, Kristina Lilleõis and Lemonade Stand.
The first stage of European expansion will target technology professionals and companies. The funding will also go toward making the agent more responsive to individual needs and extending it beyond job matching to longer-term career development.
