Poll: 78% of Poles Want Lower Speed Limits for E-Scooters
A poll by IBRiS for the Polish Press Agency shows 78.2% of Poles back lower e-scooter speed limits, while a full ban in big cities splits opinion.

A large majority of Poles want tighter rules for electric scooters in cities. A survey by the IBRiS research institute, commissioned by the Polish Press Agency, found that 78.2% of respondents support lowering the permitted speed of these vehicles. Some 18.3% are opposed and 3.5% have no opinion.
Even more people, 76.5%, back designating zones where riding e-scooters would be completely prohibited. Another 19.6% reject the idea. In other words, more than three quarters of Poles favor limiting scooter users' freedom, both through speed caps and by closing parts of cities to them.
A full ban divides the country
A total ban on e-scooters in large cities is far less popular. It is supported by 43.2% of respondents, while 48.5% are against and 8.4% are undecided.
The results show a clear generational gap. A ban is backed by 68% of people aged 60–69 and 62% of those aged 70 and over. Among 18–29-year-olds only 30% support it, and 63% object. The lowest support was recorded among people aged 40–49: just 17% want a ban, while 72% are against it.
Few people actually ride
The poll also shows that active users are a small minority. Only 8.4% of respondents used an e-scooter in the past six months, while 91.6% did not. Usage is highest among young adults: 25% of those aged 18–29 rode one, compared with 12% of 30–39-year-olds and 13% of 40–49-year-olds.
Interest is marginal in older groups. Just 1% of people aged 50–69 had ridden a scooter, and nobody aged 70 or over reported doing so.
The pattern is consistent: those who ride most often are the least likely to support a complete ban, while older respondents lean much more toward restrictions. The survey does not indicate any specific legislative plans, but it shows where public opinion stands as cities weigh how to regulate shared and private scooters.
