Poland's AI Use Jumps to 39.8%, Led by Young Adults and Seniors
Nearly 40% of Poles aged 16-74 now use AI tools, up 17.1 points in a year, according to a new GUS report. Seniors aged 65-74 more than tripled their use.

The share of Poles using artificial intelligence tools rose to 39.8% in 2026, up 17.1 percentage points from 22.7% a year earlier. The figures come from the Central Statistical Office (GUS) report "Information Society in Poland in 2026" and cover people aged 16 to 74 who used AI in the three months before the survey.
Internet access is close to universal, with 96.6% of households connected, yet fewer than half of Poles use AI. Adoption depends heavily on age.
Young people lead, seniors catch up
Among 16-24-year-olds, AI use climbed from 49.3% to 72.5%. In the 25-34 group it rose from 39.5% to 62.1%. Further up the age scale, 47.9% of people aged 35-44 use AI, 35.9% of those aged 45-54, and 20.8% of those aged 55-64.
The lowest figure is among respondents aged 65-74, at 9%. That is still more than triple the 2.6% recorded a year earlier.
Connectivity, shopping and e-government
Fixed broadband reached 71.9% of households, 1.6 points more than in 2025, while mobile broadband was available in 78.5%, against 78.2% before. Online shopping was declared by 72.9% of people, up from 69.7%. The urban-rural gap narrowed from 10.1 to 7.2 points, with 75.8% of city residents and 68.6% of rural residents buying online.
Public services online were used by 62.1% of respondents: 68.3% in cities and 52.8% in rural areas. The most common activity was submitting tax returns (39.2%), followed by searching for information on official sites (35.3%) and receiving official correspondence electronically (33%).
Digital skills also improved. Some 61.6% of people have basic or above-basic skills, up from 50.4%. The biggest jump was among 55-64-year-olds, whose share rose 16.8 points to 49.1%. People aged 65-74 remain lowest at 22.8%, while the 25-34 group leads with 82.6%.
