Nvidia Pays 1.34 Trillion Won Into Naver, Becomes No. 3 Holder

Nvidia has fully paid in its 1.3412 trillion won (about 1.34 trillion) investment in Naver, completing the deal that underpins the South Korean company's AI factory strategy. A regulatory filing on Friday confirmed that the entire subscription amount for the third-party share allotment has been received.

The capital increase creates 6,558,435 new common shares. That gives Nvidia a 4.13% stake in Naver, making it the third-largest shareholder behind the National Pension Service (9.49%) and BlackRock (7.31%).

Smaller stake due to exchange rates

The investment amount itself has not changed. However, currency movements reduced the number of new shares issued, and Nvidia's expected ownership fell from 4.54% to 4.13%.

How the money will be used

The payment follows an earlier agreement in which Naver secured up to 9 billion dollars (about 12.19 trillion won) in computing infrastructure from Brookfield. That contract satisfied the precondition for Nvidia's equity investment.

Naver will use Nvidia's funds to expand the supply of high-performance GPUs and deepen technical cooperation. The Brookfield financing is earmarked for the infrastructure and supply chain needed to run gigawatt-class AI factories.

Naver plans to start operating a 55MW AI factory in the first half of next year and to scale it to 200MW in 2028. The hyperscale data center Gak Sejong will serve as the core site, with expansion happening in stages.

For Naver, the closing removes a key financing uncertainty and lets it move from planning to building its AI infrastructure business, while giving Nvidia a lasting stake in one of Korea's largest platform companies.
