Netflix in Poland adds BLIK recurring payments, no card needed

Netflix subscribers in Poland can now pay the monthly fee with BLIK recurring payments instead of a Visa or Mastercard card, though not every bank supports it yet.

Netflix users in Poland can now pay for their subscription with BLIK recurring payments, a special version of the popular Polish payment method developed together with Polski Standard Płatności. When choosing a plan, customers can pick it instead of a Visa or Mastercard card.

The setup is simple. As with a regular online purchase, you generate a BLIK code in your banking app, choose the recurring BLIK option on Netflix and enter the six-digit code. The app then shows key details, including that the fee is charged automatically and stays valid indefinitely until cancelled. After you give consent, later payments are collected automatically each month on schedule.

Control from the banking app

Every subscription paid through recurring BLIK can be managed directly in the banking app. Users can cancel at any time and see what they are paying for, which helps avoid unpleasant surprises on the statement.

The other benefit is that no payment card is involved. Although cards are a secure method, many Poles are still reluctant to leave card details with online platforms and merchants. Here nothing of the kind has to be provided, only a one-time six-digit code generated in the mobile app.

Not every bank is on board

The feature is available in many popular Polish banks, but not all of them. Customers of Pekao, for example, cannot use it yet. Recurring BLIK is gaining popularity and is already supported by more than 300 BLIK partners, so Netflix joins a growing list of services offering it.
