Netflix to Invest 10 Billion Lira in Turkish Series and Films
Netflix will put 10 billion Turkish lira into local series and films between 2026 and 2028, marking its tenth year of operations in Türkiye.

Netflix has announced a three-year investment plan of 10 billion Turkish lira (TL) for Turkish series and films, covering 2026 to 2028. The company made the announcement in the tenth year of its operations in Türkiye. It expects the new shoots to create jobs in the industry and to bring more Turkish productions to international audiences.
Netflix did not say how the money will be split across the years, how many productions it plans or which cities will host the shoots.
A decade in numbers
According to Diego Ávalos, Netflix's vice president of content for Spain, Portugal, Türkiye and the Middle East, the company has filmed in more than 30 cities, from Edirne to Kars, during its first ten years in the country. It has released more than 90 local productions, and these titles have reached Netflix's Top 10 lists in over 90 countries. Ávalos said the company plans to keep shooting in different regions of Anatolia.
A. Burak Dağlıoğlu, head of the Investment Office of the Presidency, also commented on the announcement. He said Turkish series are exported to 190 countries, reach more than 1 billion viewers worldwide and generate over 1 billion dollars in export revenue. He added that under the Strong Hub Türkiye for Investments programme, the tax rate on income from service exports has been cut to zero.
Pitch day and training
On 30 November, Netflix will hold an event called Next Story: Netflix Project Pitch Day to assess new series and film projects. Writers, directors and producers who have not previously worked on a Netflix Türkiye production can present their projects to the company's content teams.
Netflix also said it has run more than 40 free training programmes in Türkiye so far, covering screenwriting, directing, adaptation and visual effects. Under the Türkiye Talent Map programme, now in its second year, young people in cities such as Çanakkale, Mardin, Konya and Hatay received industry training. The company will extend the programme to three more cities in the next phase.
