Motorola Signature 27 Launches With 200MP Zoom and GrapheneOS
Motorola's new Signature 27 flagship pairs a 200MP periscope camera and 7,000mAh battery with Gemini AI and, a first for the brand, GrapheneOS support.

Motorola has unveiled the Signature 27, a flagship smartphone built around a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, Gemini AI features and a 7,000mAh battery. Announced on Thursday, November 5, it starts at a recommended retail price of $1,599, with worldwide availability expected in the coming months.
Cameras and display
The quad-camera system includes a 50MP main sensor (Sony LYTIA L910 with LOFIC technology), the 200MP periscope telephoto with 100x Super Zoom Pro, a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP front camera that records 4K video. A dedicated EVS action sensor is meant to capture fast-moving subjects more clearly, and video supports Dolby Vision with an AI Video Enhancement Engine. Motorola says the system earned a DXOMARK Gold Label and ranked ahead of other Android and iOS phones launched in 2026 in that firm's assessment.
The Extreme AMOLED Duo tandem panel reaches 12,000 nits peak brightness at 1.5K resolution. Motorola claims up to 34% better energy efficiency and up to 121% longer lifespan than traditional AMOLED panels.
Performance, AI and battery
The phone runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, cooled by the ArcticMesh system with a thermal chamber 40% larger than before. It has a six-antenna design and Wi-Fi 8 support, with claims of up to double the Wi-Fi speeds.
The Signature 27 is designed for Gemini Intelligence. Motorola adds Rambler, which turns speech into polished messages, and Sign-to-Text, which uses the front camera to translate American Sign Language into written English in real time. It also supports Gemini Omni for video creation and editing, and Lyria for generating soundtracks.
The 7,000mAh battery is 35% larger than last generation's, with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. Motorola says 12 minutes of wired charging provides a day's use. Audio is tuned by Bang & Olufsen, and the body uses Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3, an aluminium frame, military-grade durability certification and IP68 and IP69 ratings.
GrapheneOS and pricing
It is also Motorola's first phone to support GrapheneOS, the security-focused open-source system based on the Android Open Source Project, developed with the GrapheneOS Foundation. The company also promises seven years of OS upgrades. India-specific pricing and availability have not been announced.
