Bengaluru-based esports company Let's Game Now has raised ₹30 crore in a round led by industrialist Anand Mahindra, Bestvantage Investments and an undisclosed UAE-based family office. The money will go towards developing the Indian Super Gaming League (ISGL), a proposed franchise-based property that combines competitive gaming, sports and entertainment.

The raise comes as Indian gaming companies rethink their growth plans. The government banned real money gaming in 2025, removing a major revenue stream, and many startups have since moved towards esports, tournaments and brand-led gaming.

A franchise model instead of one-off events

Founded in 2018 by Santanu Basu, Let's Game Now connects brands with gamers, runs online competitions and offline events, and provides live broadcasting across South Asia and Southeast Asia. The company says it has organised more than 2,000 events, serves over 30 clients, operates in 18 countries and has reached more than 50 million viewers.

A franchise format would let it build a recurring property around teams, players and fans rather than depending only on individual tournaments. Mahindra's involvement brings links to sports properties such as the Pro Kabaddi League and Chess League.

The company also says it has a community of more than 1.4 million members and a grassroots network across over 400 colleges in 80 cities. That base could help it find participants and audiences for ISGL. India's gaming market is valued at nearly $3.8 billion and is projected to reach $9.2 billion by FY29, with an estimated 590 million gamers.

What still has to be proven

The commercial case is not yet settled. ISGL will need to attract franchise owners, sponsors and broadcasters, and keep audiences watching across seasons. Its economics also matter, since production, marketing and franchise development are costly.

Let's Game Now has not disclosed the league's launch timeline, franchise structure, expected revenue or monetisation plan. It has also not said how the ₹30 crore will be split between league operations, marketing and technology.
