Inkle acquires Finally's bookkeeping arm, grows team to 160
CPA firm Inkle has bought Finally's bookkeeping division in an undisclosed all-cash deal, lifting its team to about 160 people in five countries.

Inkle, a CPA firm built in Bengaluru and headquartered in San Francisco, has acquired the bookkeeping division of Finally. The deal was paid entirely in cash, and the financial terms have not been disclosed.
With the acquisition, Inkle's team grows to about 160 people spread across five countries. The company says the move also widens its customer base: until now focused on startups, it will now serve small businesses outside the technology sector as well.
Why it matters
Bookkeeping is the foundation of tax and accounting work, since clean books feed directly into filings and financial reporting. By taking over a dedicated bookkeeping operation, Inkle adds capacity in that core service rather than building it from scratch, and it brings a new group of clients into its fold.
The expansion beyond startups is the notable strategic shift. Startups have been Inkle's core audience, but non-tech small businesses represent a far broader pool of potential customers who also need reliable bookkeeping, tax compliance and accounting support. Reaching them gives the firm a route to growth that does not depend solely on the funding cycles of the startup world.
The transaction also reflects a pattern of accounting firms with technology roots growing through acquisitions rather than only through organic hiring. Combining a cross-border team with a larger book of clients is a way to scale service delivery quickly.
What comes next
Inkle has not shared details on how Finally's bookkeeping clients and staff will be integrated, or how many people join from the acquired unit. Pricing, service changes and further expansion plans were also not specified. The next indicators to watch will be how quickly the firm brings the new clients onto its processes and whether it pursues additional deals as it pushes into the wider small-business market.
