FritzSmart Energy 201: Fritz Launches Smaller Smart Plug
Fritz is bringing the FritzSmart Energy 201 to market, a switchable smart plug with power consumption measurement that is smaller than the company's earlier solutions.

Fritz is launching a new smart plug: the FritzSmart Energy 201 is a switchable socket that also measures the power consumption of connected devices. According to the company, it is smaller than the previous Fritz solutions.
Switching and metering in one device
The plug combines two functions that matter in the smart home. Connected appliances can be switched on and off remotely, and the built-in metering shows how much electricity they use. That makes it easier to spot devices that consume more than expected, for example in standby.
The more compact design is the main change from earlier Fritz plugs. A smaller housing leaves more room on crowded power strips and wall outlets, where bulky adapters often block neighboring sockets.
What is not yet known
The available information does not include a price, a release date or detailed technical specifications. Details such as maximum load, supported connection standards or compatibility with existing Fritz products have not been confirmed here.
