EKA Mobility Expands Manufacturing With Six Plants in India
EKA Mobility says six plants in Pune and Pithampur belong to an 11-facility network with capacity for over 40,000 electric vehicles a year.

EKA Mobility has expanded its manufacturing footprint in India. According to the company, six plants in Pune and Pithampur form part of a wider network of 11 facilities.
The network spans 120 acres and has an annual capacity to build more than 40,000 electric vehicles. The company put the investment behind it at more than Rs 3,500 crore, or roughly 35 billion rupees.
What the figures show
The numbers point to a build-out that goes beyond a single factory. Spreading production across 11 facilities in two industrial locations gives the company room to scale output as demand for electric vehicles grows in India.
The company has not detailed in this announcement which vehicles will be built at which site, or how quickly the plants will reach full capacity. Those details will determine how much of the 40,000-unit ceiling translates into actual deliveries.
Why it matters
For India's electric vehicle sector, domestic manufacturing capacity is a key measure of whether young companies can move from pilots and small batches to volume production. An investment above Rs 3,500 crore signals a substantial commitment to that shift.
For customers and fleet operators, larger local capacity can support more reliable supply. For the wider industry, it adds another sizeable player to the manufacturing clusters around Pune and Pithampur.
Further updates on production ramp-up and product plans are expected from the company as the facilities come fully online.
