CNM Unveils HyperAct Robot Actuators, Signs Openpath Deal

Korean motion-solutions firm CNM showed five HyperAct robot actuators at Robo World 2026 and signed a 2027–2030 supply contract with Openpath Robotics.

CNM, a Korean motion-solutions company pursuing a KOSDAQ listing, unveiled five models of its next-generation robot actuator, HyperAct, at Robo World 2026. The company announced the launch on November 5. The show opened on November 4 at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, and is Korea's largest robotics exhibition.

An integrated actuator

HyperAct combines a motor, reducer, encoder and controller in a single unit. According to the company, it has brought the entire process in-house, from press-core stamping through assembly and verification.

A CNM representative said the actuators offer twice the torque density of competing products and improved precision thanks to reduced backlash. The lineup includes one model for shoulder joints, one for wrist joints and three for elbow joints.

Supply contract and mass production

At the exhibition, CNM signed a supply agreement with Openpath Robotics. The contract runs from 2027 to 2030, and the actuators will be fitted to quadruped robots. Openpath Robotics was co-founded by Lee In-ho, a Pusan National University professor who came out of KAIST's Hubo Lab.

CNM plans to produce robot components using its existing mass-production infrastructure, which turns out 10 million home-appliance and automotive parts per year.

CEO Kim Hyung-ga called the actuator a key component that completes a robot's movement. He said the company intends to lead the next-generation robot motion-solutions market with 45 years of core motor technology and large-scale manufacturing capability.

The deal gives the company a named customer and a multi-year volume horizon as it moves toward its listing, while the torque-density claim will need to be tested against rival products once units are in the field.
