ChatGPT Adds iCloud Mail and Calendar Plugins for All Plans
ChatGPT now connects to iCloud Mail and Calendar, letting users search email, draft replies and manage events from the chatbot, including on the free tier.

ChatGPT now offers plugins for iCloud Mail and iCloud Calendar, letting people who rely on Apple's services search their inbox, check appointments and manage their schedules through the chatbot. The integration is rolling out to all ChatGPT plans, including the free tier, on web, desktop and iOS.
The Mail plugin can find messages from specific people, summarize recent conversations, draft replies and send emails. The Calendar plugin can create and update events, and both plugins can look up contacts. In practice, a user could ask ChatGPT to find a confirmation email, check whether the meeting clashes with something else, and help reschedule it.
How to connect
Setup starts in ChatGPT under Settings > Plugins, where iCloud Mail and iCloud Calendar must each be connected separately. Apple requires an app-specific password for both. Users can generate one by signing in at account.apple.com and opening Sign-In and Security > App-Specific Passwords. Two-factor authentication must be enabled on the Apple Account.
Back in ChatGPT, users enter that generated password instead of their regular Apple password. The Mail plugin needs an address ending in @icloud.com, @me.com or @mac.com, while Calendar uses the primary Apple Account email address, which may differ.
One limitation
The plugin only reaches emails stored in iCloud Mail. Gmail or Outlook accounts added to Apple's Mail app stay out of reach unless those services are connected to ChatGPT separately.
The launch extends ChatGPT's growing set of connections to everyday productivity tools. For Apple users who have long asked for it, it removes the need to copy details between their inbox, calendar and the chatbot.
