Apple Reportedly Targets 16 Million MacBook Neo Shipments in 2027
Apple has reportedly told suppliers to plan for 16 million MacBook Neo shipments in 2027, double this year's roughly 8 million, as the MacBook Neo 2 nears.

Apple is reportedly preparing for MacBook Neo shipments to double in 2027. According to supply chain sources, the company has shared a forecast with suppliers of 16 million MacBook Neo units next year, twice the roughly 8 million projected for 2026.
The forecast coincides with the expected arrival of a second-generation model. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has reported that Apple plans to introduce the MacBook Neo 2 in early 2027. The first MacBook Neo went on sale in March 2026, so the lineup will be on the market for a longer stretch next year, including January and February.
More than a calendar effect
Those two extra months are not expected to explain the jump on their own. The start of the year is also traditionally a slower period for consumer electronics. The 16 million figure therefore points to an expectation that demand for the MacBook Neo will keep growing, not just to a longer selling window.
The first model made a strong start, particularly among people buying their first Mac. Apple recorded its best sales week ever for first-time Mac buyers, helped by the MacBook Neo.
What remains unconfirmed
The 16 million figure is a shipment expectation based on supply chain sources, not realized sales. Apple has not officially announced the MacBook Neo 2 or the shipment target.
