Zoho launches restaurant POS platform with free plan in India
Zoho has launched a restaurant POS platform in India and is offering it free to outlets with annual billing of up to Rs 12 lakh. Asha Sweets is the first customer.

Zoho has launched a point-of-sale (POS) platform for restaurants in India, and small outlets can use it at no cost. The free plan covers restaurants with annual billing of up to Rs 12 lakh.
Kolkata-based Asha Sweets has become the first customer of the new product, according to the announcement.
Aimed at small food businesses
By setting the free tier at Rs 12 lakh in yearly billing, Zoho is targeting the smallest end of the market: single-outlet eateries, sweet shops and similar businesses that often rely on basic billing tools or manual records. Larger outlets above that threshold would presumably move to paid plans, although details of pricing and features were not available.
Why it matters
Restaurant POS is a crowded segment in India, with many specialised vendors competing for independent operators. A free entry plan from a established software company lowers the cost of digitising billing for small businesses and could pressure rivals that charge from the first outlet.
Zoho is best known for its business software suite, and the restaurant POS extends its reach into a vertical with high daily transaction volumes. Further details on the product's capabilities, paid tiers and rollout plans have not been shared in the material available so far.
