XREAL AURA Android XR Glasses Open for Orders in Japan
XREAL AURA, the Android XR glasses built with Google and featuring Gemini, goes on sale to the general public in Japan from November 2, priced from ¥229,800.

XREAL AURA, the XR glasses developed jointly by XREAL and Google, can be ordered by the general public in Japan from November 2. Orders opened on October 28 in the United States, Canada and South Korea.
The glasses run Google's Android XR platform and give access to apps such as YouTube and Google Maps through Google Play. The lenses are transparent, so wearers can see their surroundings while several apps float in front of them. Users can watch video on a large virtual screen, work with a browser or documents, or connect a compatible PC over a USB-C cable and adjust the size and position of its display.
Gemini and hand tracking
Hand tracking lets users operate the apps in front of them with gestures. Google's Gemini AI is built in: wearers can ask questions about a YouTube video on screen, ask about what they see around them, or get voice help operating apps.
The field of view is 70 degrees, and the micro-OLED display refreshes at up to 120Hz. Processing and the battery sit in a separate compute pack connected by cable, which keeps the glasses themselves under 95g.
Pricing and accessories
In Japan, the model with 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage costs ¥229,800, while the 16GB/512GB version costs ¥269,800, both including tax. In the US, launch discounts bring the models to $1,099 (about ¥173,000) and $1,299 (about ¥205,000) until the end of 2026.
Two accessories were also announced. One is a controller developed with gaming peripheral maker GameSir, with a dedicated button to call up Gemini. The other is a portable wireless keyboard aimed at multi-window work.
