Windows 11 Update KB5127936 Lets You Customize Right-Click Menu
Windows 11 is getting a customizable context menu. Update KB5127936, now in Release Preview, lets users hide entries, reorder them and add third-party options.

Microsoft is giving Windows 11 users control over the right-click menu. A new update, KB5127936, lets people decide which entries appear in the context menu, in what order, and which extra options from third-party apps are added.
The context menu appears when you right-click an open window or a specific file. Until now, Windows 11 offered very little room for changes there, which has been a long-running complaint. Many features that Windows 10 users could tailor to their needs were fixed in the newer system.
What the update changes
With KB5127936, users can switch off selected entries, for example "Send to" or "Create shortcut". They can also rearrange individual items and add further options supplied by third-party applications. A longer list of commands will still be available by holding the Shift key while right-clicking.
Microsoft says the new menu will be faster and will reduce clutter in the system, while handing users more control over what they see.
Availability
For now the update is available only in the Release Preview channel for Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 26H2. It is expected to reach the stable release in the near future, which means it will then roll out to all users of the operating system.
The change shows that, years after launch, Microsoft is still revisiting design decisions in Windows 11 that restricted personalization compared with its predecessor. For anyone whose context menu has become crowded with entries they never use, the option to trim and reorder it should make daily file handling quicker.
