Logistics company Shadowfax posted a consolidated net profit of ₹68 crore for the September quarter (Q2 FY27), more than five times the ₹13 crore it earned a year earlier. Sequentially, profit rose 3.9% from ₹65.4 crore.

Operating revenue climbed 56.6% year on year and 13.2% quarter on quarter to ₹1,537.7 crore, an all-time quarterly high. With other income of ₹20.4 crore, total income reached ₹1,558.1 crore. Total expenses grew 52.8% to ₹1,490.2 crore, slower than revenue, which lifted margins. Adjusted EBITDA rose 177.4% to ₹77 crore, with the margin widening to 5% from 2.8%.

The company said it has now logged six straight quarters of revenue growth above 55% year on year, even though the sale season has moved into Q3 FY27.

Hyperlocal leads growth

The express parcel business generated ₹1,096 crore, up 55.2% year on year. Hyperlocal revenue grew 87.7% to ₹341 crore, while other logistics services contributed ₹100 crore, up 6.6%. Combined orders across express parcel and hyperlocal totalled 27.1 crore, up 69.7%, with express parcel making up 21.7 crore of them and hyperlocal 5.4 crore.

Shadowfax 360, its self-serve shipping platform for small sellers, has passed 6,700 transacting sellers within two quarters of launch, and two-thirds joined without a salesperson. The company is also rolling out micro-fulfilment centres for D2C brands, aiming for deliveries within eight to 12 hours without brands needing regional warehouses.

Festive season preparation

Ahead of the festive peak, Shadowfax deployed an in-house AI system that replans daily how more than 3,600 trucks link over 5,500 touchpoints. Cofounder and CEO Abhishek Bansal said the company heads into the season with more capacity than ever and expects to remain India's fastest-growing third-party logistics provider while delivering industry-leading returns.

Shadowfax, founded in 2015, listed in January after a ₹1,907 crore IPO that combined a ₹1,000 crore fresh issue with an offer for sale. Its shares traded about 1.3% higher at ₹294.15 on the BSE in the afternoon.
