Sega Fave Hit by Breach: Arcade Online Services Suspended

Sega Fave says a third party accessed some of its servers, halting ALL.Net, Aime and SEGA ID sign-ups. Bandai Namco arcade titles such as Taiko no Tatsujin are affected too.

Sega Fave, a subsidiary of Sega Sammy Holdings, said on November 2 that some of its servers were accessed without authorization by a third party. The company has suspended related services since 3 p.m. on November 1, leaving parts of its arcade online infrastructure and new SEGA ID registrations unavailable.

Which services are down

The affected systems include ALL.Net, which connects arcade machines in game centers to the network, and Aime, an authentication system that identifies players through IC cards and manages their play data. As of 6 p.m. on November 2, online play for ALL.Net-compatible titles, store-locator information on the official site and each title's .NET service were unavailable.

Also suspended are gameplay via Aime and the smartphone service PrizeON, the Sega Lucky Kuji Online service, and new SEGA ID registration. The disruption was still continuing as of 1 p.m. on November 4, and several game centers have posted on X about machines being taken offline or features being restricted.

Bandai Namco titles affected

Games from Bandai Namco Experience that rely on ALL.Net are also hit. Eight titles are affected, including Taiko no Tatsujin, Mario Kart Arcade GP DX and Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS 2 Infinite Boost. For Taiko no Tatsujin and Mario Kart, machines will gradually become unusable even offline. The impact varies by title.

What comes next

Sega Fave is investigating whether data was leaked and how far the intrusion reached. Its initial inquiry has found no leakage of customer or business-partner information. The company expects the investigation to take some time, and it will announce on its official site when services resume after safety checks are complete.

For players and arcade operators, the outage means saved progress tied to Aime cards and online modes remain out of reach until then, and the scope of the impact may still change as the probe continues.
