Russian Post Opens 5.48 Billion Ruble Data Center Tender
Russian Post has launched a tender worth up to 5.48 billion rubles for data center services, moving part of its IT equipment to three commercial sites.

Russian Post has announced a tender for data center services with a maximum value of 5.48 billion rubles. The winning contractor must move part of the company's existing IT equipment to professional facilities and provide capacity for data processing, storage and backup.
Three sites, linked together
Under the terms of the procurement, the winner must provide three facilities: two in Moscow and one in another region outside the Moscow Oblast. The sites have to be connected to one another and to Russian Post's current IT infrastructure.
The contract covers capacity for processing and storing data, equipment for complex computing and a backup system. The contractor must also arrange secure placement of part of the equipment and high-speed communication channels between the data centers. Bidders must provide a bid security of 27.4 million rubles, and applications are accepted until 10 November.
Large, but not unprecedented
Experts cited in Russian business press describe the sum as large for the Russian commercial data center market, though not without precedent. In 2025 the land registry agency Rosreestr bought computing capacity worth about 5 billion rubles, and Russian Post itself ran a similar tender worth 2.6 billion rubles in 2017.
The company does not plan to relocate its own data centers. The task is to move part of the equipment and information systems housed there to the sites of professional operators.
A tight market
Finding space may prove difficult. According to the experts, there are practically no free server racks on the market, and the shortage is most acute in the Moscow region. The situation is better in other regions.
The same experts consider the purchase justified given the company's improving financial results. Redundancy for information systems can reduce the risk of outages and make the infrastructure more resilient.
