Singapore-based proptech startup Rently has secured a $12 million growth credit facility from January Capital to expand its rental payment platform across Singapore, Hong Kong and the UAE, and into new markets.

The money will fund rental transactions, customer acquisition and geographic expansion. Rently lets tenants pay rent in flexible instalments, earn rewards and manage payment schedules. In the UAE, its Rent Now Pay Later service lets tenants pay monthly while landlords receive scheduled payouts.

Growth in the UAE

According to the company, it has processed more than AED 100 million in rental contracts in the UAE, where transaction volume has grown more than fivefold year on year. Across its three markets, Rently reports annualised rental volume above $50 million and more than 2,400 tenants. Year-to-date volume is nearly three times the same period of 2025. In the UAE it works with agencies such as White & Co, as well as co-living firms and property managers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The need is clear: Dubai registered almost 1.2 million tenancy contracts in 2025, yet many residents still pay up to a full year of rent upfront in one to four cheques despite earning monthly salaries. In June 2026, the Dubai Land Department launched Flexi Rent to let tenants pay monthly.

Taimur Khan, Rently's Managing Director for the Middle East, said the company now onboards more tenants in a single quarter than it did in the whole of 2025, and that the facility lets it say yes to many more tenants, agencies and landlords.

What comes next

CEO Shiv Mahajan said the goal is to triple the number of tenants served over the next 12 months and to lead rental payments in every market it operates in. Because the facility is credit rather than equity, the company can keep its equity focused on new products, technology and expansion, according to Mahajan.

Rently is now preparing a Series A equity round of $10 million to $15 million to develop its core offering and enter additional markets from 2027. It previously raised $3 million in Pre-Series A funding from investors including Hustle Fund, 5I Ventures, Woh Hup, Orvel, Orange Bloom and Feedback Ventures. The company says it is also using AI to automate much of its operations as volumes grow.
