Korean industrial safety firm Patternn has released an AI agent that checks risk assessment documents against occupational safety law and flags missing hazards and gaps.

Patternn, a South Korean AI industrial safety company led by CEO Nam Jae-ryong, has launched an AI agent solution that automatically reviews risk assessment documents against the country's occupational safety and health legislation.

The tool analyzes existing risk assessment reports to determine whether hazards have been overlooked and whether safety measures are adequate. It then derives the necessary corrections based on laws and safety standards. It also analyzes site photos and results from toolbox meetings (TBM), the pre-work safety briefings, so that hazards arising from changing working conditions can be reflected in the report. The aim is to cut the time safety managers spend on paperwork.

Tackling inaccurate legal citations

To make the output more reliable, Patternn built a "Golden Case" database that organizes application examples and reference answers for each article of industrial safety law, and linked it to its own search AI model. According to the company, this reduces the faulty legal citations common in general-purpose generative AI and grounds reviews in objective rules. Revision records and version histories are stored in the system so they can be reused for similar processes or repeated tasks.

The solution is designed for a broad range of work, including high-place work and heavy equipment on construction sites, equipment maintenance in manufacturing, loading and unloading in logistics, and electrical and mechanical inspections at public facilities. Reports written in existing formats can be fed in directly without conversion, which simplifies adoption.

Path to public procurement

Patternn completed technical validation through a 2025 open innovation program run by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and a 2026 Global Growth Voucher program from the Ministry of Science and ICT. In September 2026 it was designated a Venture Nara product by the Public Procurement Service, which the company says is concretizing supply to public agencies and state-run firms. It is also widening adoption at private construction and manufacturing sites.

Nam said the goal is to reduce the administrative load on safety managers so they can focus on field inspections and real accident prevention. The company is currently running a pilot review service for risk assessment consultants and safety experts, and is refining its algorithm using practical feedback from the field.
