Samsung's next flagship foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold9 Ultra, is already the subject of detailed spec rumors, even though the phone is not expected until next year. A roundup of leaks published on October 30 sketches what could change from the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. None of this is confirmed by Samsung.

Design and display

The Fold9 Ultra is expected to keep the taller, narrower form factor of its predecessor. Reports point to Corning Gorilla Glass on the front and back, an aluminum frame and IP68 dust and water resistance, matching the rating of Apple's iPhone foldable. The body is said to be thinner than 9mm, with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The rear camera module could move from a vertical layout to a rectangular one.

The phone is tipped to have a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8-inch inner foldable display. Both would use Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with peak brightness above 3,000 nits and HDR10+ support.

Cameras and video

The rumored rear setup has three cameras: a 200MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 50MP ultrawide with autofocus and a 50MP telephoto with OIS. Two 12MP selfie cameras are expected, one on the cover screen and one on the inner display.

Video is also said to get an upgrade. Every camera could record 4K at 60fps, while the main and ultrawide sensors may shoot 8K at 30fps. Support for the APV professional video format, Log recording and built-in LUTs would give creators flat profiles or custom color looks for grading.

Performance

Inside, the phone is expected to use Qualcomm's next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme, built on a 2nm process, with gains in CPU, GPU and connectivity. Memory is rumored at 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR6 RAM, with 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of storage, possibly using the new UFS 5.0 standard.

Because these details come from aggregated leaks rather than official statements, they may change before launch. Samsung has not announced a date or pricing for the device.
