EIC Fund's 10 Largest Investments of 2026 So Far Revealed
New data from the European Innovation Council shows which ten companies secured the biggest EIC Fund commitments in the first three quarters of 2026, across deep tech sectors.
The European Innovation Council (EIC) has shared data revealing the ten companies that received the largest EIC Fund commitments during the first three quarters of 2026. The figures were provided exclusively by the EIC and cover investments made between January and September.
In total, the EIC made 85 investments over the period. The portfolio spans some of the most capital-intensive and technically demanding areas of European innovation, including quantum computing, nuclear fusion, biotechnology and space technology.
Deep tech at the centre
The mix of sectors in the top ten reflects the EIC Fund's focus on breakthrough technologies that often struggle to attract enough private capital at an early stage. Quantum computing and nuclear fusion, for example, require long development cycles and heavy upfront spending before commercial products emerge. Biotechnology and space technology face similar hurdles.
By placing equity commitments in such companies, the EIC aims to help European startups and scale-ups keep growing within the region instead of looking elsewhere for funding.
Why it matters
For founders, the list shows where public investors are placing their largest bets and which fields currently attract the biggest tickets. For private investors, it can signal sectors where co-investment opportunities may follow, as public funding often helps companies secure further rounds.
The figures also give a snapshot of how the EIC is deploying its capital this year. With 85 deals recorded after three quarters, the programme remains an active player in European deep tech financing.
The data covers only the first nine months of 2026, so the final ranking could change once the fourth quarter is included.
