CCI Clears Prosus' $100 Million Investment in Navi
India's competition regulator has approved Prosus' $100 million minority investment in Sachin Bansal's fintech Navi, its first institutional round, as IPO plans revive.

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) cleared Prosus' investment in Navi on October 30, allowing the global investor to take a minority stake in the fintech company led by Sachin Bansal.
Prosus is putting in $100 million, a little over ₹955 crore, in what is Navi's first institutional funding round. Navi said the deal remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. The company did not disclose the valuation, the size of the stake or how it will use the money.
Describing the target, the CCI said it is the holding company of the Navi Group, which offers financial services through a single consumer-facing mobile app.
Operating picture
Navi says it is entering its next growth phase with strong momentum. Its UPI platform remained India's fourth-largest third-party app by transaction volume in FY26, while lending arm Navi Finserv saw assets under management cross ₹13,000 crore. The group reached consolidated profitability in the fourth quarter of FY26, though it did not share figures.
The numbers for Navi Finserv are mixed. Standalone net profit rose 32% year on year to ₹292.2 crore, with operating revenue up 8% to ₹2,461 crore. On a consolidated basis, net profit fell 46% to ₹93.3 crore even as operating revenue grew 17% to ₹2,691.5 crore.
IPO plans
The funding arrives as Navi is reportedly preparing to revive its listing plans. Recent reports suggest it could refile draft papers with SEBI by December, with a fresh issue of around ₹3,000 crore. JM Financial, Kotak Mahindra Capital, Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan have reportedly been appointed as advisers. Navi filed for a ₹3,350 crore IPO in 2022 but shelved it amid weak markets.
Bansal, who stepped down as chief executive in February 2025 and became executive chairman, said the investment endorses the institution Navi is building. Ashutosh Sharma, head of Prosus India investments and M&A, cited the large user base, multiple business lines and technology-first approach, adding that the team executed well over the past 12 months despite a tough macro environment.
