Apple Unveils Touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro With M5 Pro, M5 Max
Apple's new MacBook Pro adds a touch-enabled tandem OLED display called PROLED XDR, Dynamic Island on the Mac and M5 Pro or M5 Max chips. Orders open October 28.

Apple has introduced a new MacBook Pro line with a touch-enabled OLED display it calls PROLED XDR. The 14.2-inch and 16.3-inch models come with M5 Pro or M5 Max chips and bring Dynamic Island to the Mac. Pre-orders open on October 28, with deliveries and store sales starting November 6.
A tandem OLED screen with touch
PROLED XDR uses tandem OLED technology, in which two self-lit pixel layers work together. Apple says this reduces light bleed when dark areas sit next to bright objects. The panel reaches 2,000 nits of peak brightness in both HDR and SDR content and a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Full-screen sustained brightness is rated at up to 1,000 nits. It supports P3 and Adobe RGB, covers more than 80 percent of Rec. 2020 and runs at 10-120 Hz with ProMotion. A nano-texture option is available.
The touch sensor is built into the panel. Users can scroll, zoom, draw directly on the screen, move 3D objects, play virtual instruments in Logic Pro and test touch input in iOS apps they are developing. Dynamic Island serves as a shared space for Spotlight, live activities and Siri AI, and can handle actions such as pausing music, answering calls or accepting an AirDrop request.
Chips, design and software
The M5 Pro offers up to 18 CPU cores, 20 GPU cores and 64 GB of unified memory. The M5 Max has an 18-core CPU, up to 40 GPU cores and up to 128 GB of memory. Storage can be configured up to 16 TB. The 14-inch model weighs about 1.36 kg and the 16-inch about 1.81 kg, roughly 227 g and 318 g less than before. Apple quotes up to 24 hours of battery life and a 50 percent charge in 30 minutes, depending on use and configuration.
Ports include three Thunderbolt 5, HDMI, an SDXC slot, MagSafe and a headphone jack, with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 via the N1 chip. The laptops run macOS 27 Golden Gate. Siri AI will arrive as a beta in macOS 27.2, and according to the announcement's footnotes Turkish is not among its supported languages. Some server-based AI features will have daily usage limits.
In Turkey, the 14-inch model starts at 199,999 lira and the 16-inch at 234,999 lira.
