YouTube Music and Premium Pass 150 Million Subscribers
YouTube Music and YouTube Premium have passed 150 million subscribers worldwide in Q3 2026, even after price increases in several markets, Alphabet says.

YouTube Music and YouTube Premium have together passed 150 million subscribers worldwide in the third quarter of 2026, despite recent price increases in several markets. Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai announced the figure while presenting the company's quarterly results.
The base has grown by roughly 25 million since earlier this year, when the total stood at 125 million.
What the number does and doesn't include
The count includes users on free trial periods, not only those paying full price. Google also did not break down the split between YouTube Music and YouTube Premium, or say which markets account for most subscribers.
The growth comes as the US price of the individual YouTube Premium plan reached $15.99 per month. The company did not say whether the increases affected sign-ups or led some users to cancel. YouTube also offers a cheaper Premium Lite tier with fewer ads, though it lacks several features of the full plan, particularly those tied to music.
Ads and creators
On the advertising side, YouTube earned $11.21 billion in the third quarter of 2026, up 9.2% from a year earlier. Connected TVs now generate more than a third of the platform's ad revenue.
Google executive Philipp Schindler said creators upload more than 20 million videos to YouTube every day. He added that the company continues to build AI-powered editing tools inside YouTube Studio to help them.
Looking ahead, YouTube is reportedly planning to offer Peacock Premium to paying subscribers next year, and audiobooks may be added to its services later.
