Traya Revenue Jumps 72.6% to Rs 585 Crore in FY26, Loss Persists
Haircare startup Traya grew operating revenue 72.6% to Rs 585 crore in FY26, edging close to Rs 600 crore, but it still posted a loss of about Rs 29 crore.
Traya, the Indian haircare startup, is closing in on a Rs 600 crore revenue run, yet profitability remains out of reach. Its consolidated annual financial statements show revenue from operations rose 72.6% year-on-year to Rs 585 crore in FY26, up from Rs 339 crore in FY25. The company still reported a net loss of roughly Rs 29 crore for the year.
From a hair-loss niche to a near Rs 600 crore business
Founded in 2019, Traya is now seven years old. It built its business around hair loss and the insecurity that often comes with it among India's young consumers. Rather than selling a single product, the company tries to identify the root causes of hair loss and then offers personalised treatment plans based on that assessment.
That approach appears to have resonated with customers. Revenue climbed by Rs 246 crore in a single year, a pace that few consumer brands in the personal care space manage at this scale.
Growth outpaces profitability
The FY26 numbers underline a familiar pattern among direct-to-consumer startups: strong top-line expansion that is not yet matched by profit. Traya's loss is small relative to its revenue, at around 5% of sales, but the company has not crossed into the black despite its sharp growth.
For investors and founders watching India's consumer startup market, the result shows that a specialised, problem-led proposition can scale quickly. It also shows that turning that scale into earnings is a separate challenge.
The next milestone to watch is whether Traya can cross the Rs 600 crore mark in FY27 and narrow its loss as revenue grows. The company has not detailed its plans for the coming year in the figures reviewed.
