Oracle Opens Business Systems to ChatGPT at AI World
At AI World, Oracle unveiled new AI services: ChatGPT access to business systems, a platform for building AI apps and a dedicated security service.

Oracle is connecting ChatGPT to its business systems. At its AI World event, the company presented a package of new AI services that includes ChatGPT access for enterprise data, a platform for AI applications and a security service.
Three building blocks
The announcement rests on three pillars. The first lets companies use ChatGPT with the data held in their Oracle business systems, which brings a widely known chatbot closer to the records that run finance, HR and operations. The second is a platform for building and running AI apps. The third is a security service aimed at protecting such deployments.
Why it matters
For many organisations the hard part of generative AI is not the model itself but the link between the model and sensitive company data. Oracle already stores a large amount of that data for its customers, so offering the connection directly from its own stack is a logical step. Pairing it with a security service reflects the concern that giving an AI assistant access to business records raises questions about access rights, data leaks and compliance.
The move also shows how enterprise software vendors are positioning themselves in the AI market: rather than building every model themselves, they act as the place where models, company data and governance meet.
What to watch
Customers will want to know how access is controlled, which data ChatGPT can actually see and how the new services are priced and rolled out. Those details will determine whether the offering moves from conference demo to everyday tool in corporate IT.
