Nvidia says GeForce Game Ready drivers will no longer support Windows 10 from November 2026. Cards will keep working, but without new-game optimizations.

Nvidia has confirmed that its GeForce Game Ready drivers will stop supporting Windows 10 starting in November 2026. Graphics cards in PCs running the older operating system will keep working, but they will no longer receive optimizations or performance improvements for newly released games.

What changes for Windows 10 users

The last full-featured driver for Windows 10 is version 621.01, released on October 21. After that, the company will move the platform to a quarterly cadence of security updates. According to Nvidia, this program will run until October 2029.

The first standard Game Ready driver that drops Windows 10 support is planned for November 2026. From that point, game-specific tuning, which usually arrives alongside major releases, will be limited to newer versions of Windows.

Why it matters

Microsoft officially ended support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025, and Nvidia's decision follows that timeline. For players who have stayed on the older system, the practical effect is that new titles may run less smoothly than they would with a current driver, even though the hardware itself is not affected.

The security-only updates mean systems will still receive fixes for vulnerabilities in the driver stack for several more years. Gamers who want day-one optimizations for upcoming games will, however, need to consider upgrading their operating system.

Nvidia has not described additional changes beyond the schedule outlined above. Owners of GeForce cards on Windows 10 can keep using version 621.01 or wait for the quarterly security releases.
