Bitrix24 Launches Sink, a Free Video Calling Service With No Time Limit

Bitrix24 has released Sink, a free video calling service that works from a shared link. No sign-up or app is needed, and calls have no time limit.

Bitrix24 has launched Sink, a free video calling service aimed at people who want to talk to friends and family. To start a call, a user creates a link and sends it to the other person, according to the company.

No registration or app installation is required, and the length of a conversation is not capped. Calls can last a couple of minutes or several hours without being cut off by a timer.

Works in the browser, on desktop and mobile

The recipient of the link joins directly from a browser. Sink runs on computers and on smartphones: opening the link on a phone is enough to connect, so the service can be used away from home or the office. Anyone can be invited, even someone who has never used a Bitrix24 product.

During a call, users can share their screen, send reactions, adjust the volume of individual participants and record the conversation. The company says recording has no duration limit either.

What comes next

Bitrix24 plans to add automatic transcription in the future, converting speech into text. The company has not given a date for that feature.

Sink targets a simple use case: reaching relatives quickly without creating an account or installing extra software. The approach puts it in the category of link-based calling tools, where the main appeal is how little setup the other person has to do.

The launch comes as smartphone dependence among Russians draws attention. A survey by RuStore and Nauki Mail found that 46% of Russians are ready to go without a smartphone for a few days at most, and 38% of them cite fear of losing contact with loved ones as the reason they cannot give up their devices.
